Dell buys Perot – what is Microsoft and Google upto?

Dell announced that it will buy Perot Systems – analysts have their own take on the thought on this deal.

Looks like the trend to have an end-to-end business model – hardware, infrastructure, product-development, services (offshoring being key), BPO, and so on…

IBM seems to be the only organization which has got all the bases covered.

HP with its acquisition of EDS (earlier, Digital & Compaq) is a close second.

Oracle has made many acquisitions recently – BEA, Sun and many more – services is a bit small with Oracle Consulting being the key.

Microsoft does not seem to have anything on the services-side – what will be its next move?

Google is also doing well so far but no ideas on whether it will make any such acquisitions in this space.

Interesting to see how things will pan out in the near future.
