Internet Bus Project of Google

The Internet Bus Project has been announced by Google to introduce Internet to towns and cities in TamilNadu. While this project is interesting in its own way – Google spreading technology to distant areas – what strikes me is the way the various products (APIs) of Google have been mashed up here. The ones I can see are Maps, YouTube, Picasa, Orkut – maybe there might be many.

One can generalize this further and share your personal vacation/tour details. This could be a good way to collaborate online for a school/college/office tour that you are planning on.

Google are coming up with various initiatives to increase their reach and mostly have been successful also.

The other news item caused more headlines – announcement of Google Latitude. I am not sure how this will be received by technologists who are paranoid about “data privacy”
